About our wearable helmets
What we stock
We stock 1:1 wearable helmets for cosplay, conventions and display. The range includes officially licensed Killerbody Transformers helmets of characters such as Optimus Prime, G1 Optimus Prime, Megatron and Bumblebee, and Iron Man inspired helmets based on armours such as the Mark 17 Heartbreaker and Mark 50. The Iron Man inspired helmets are fan-made designs and are not officially licensed Marvel products.
What makes a helmet wearable?
A wearable helmet is a full-size helmet with an interior, opening and fit designed to go on an adult head, rather than a display-only replica. Wearable helmets are made in 1:1 scale, so they match the character's on-screen proportions when worn. Many have electronic features: LED light-up eyes, sound effects, voice phrases, and motorised faceplates or panels that open and close by voice command, remote control or touch sensor. They are costume pieces, not safety helmets, and must not be used for riding or sport.
Choosing the right wearable helmet
Choose a wearable helmet by fit, features and licence. Check the head circumference and internal dimensions on the product page before ordering, as fit varies between makers. Decide whether you want a licensed Transformers helmet with character sound effects, or an Iron Man inspired helmet with voice-controlled moving parts. Look at the power source too, as most helmets use a rechargeable battery or a USB lead. Every product page lists the features, fit and what is in the box.
Buying from Helmets and Heroes
We describe licensing clearly on every product page, so you know whether a helmet is officially licensed or fan-made. Many helmets can be pre-ordered with a 10% deposit, with the balance charged on release. Orders are sent by tracked UK delivery from Tamworth, Staffordshire. Want a helmet purely for display?
